Alex Arnold is an Audio and Video professional, blending together the best of both worlds. With a strong background in music composition and audio production and engineering, as well as a passion for video, lighting and all things tech, Alex Arnold is a true “Master of none”. Alex has a degree in music composition from Dalhousie and has created many scores for Media and Theatre productions including Margot Dionne’s “Raven’s in the Rain”. Drawing inspiration from TV, film and video games, Arnold’s scoring style is adaptive and often blends orchestral and electronic elements to create hybrid scores. As an engineer, Alex has recorded and mixed many genres from classical and folk to hip-hop and heavy rock, with everything in between. Alex also works as a freelancer at The Music Room in Halifax doing Audio and Video for both livestream and recorded performances, as well as conferences, interviews, and more. Drawing from his past experience, Alex Arnold constantly evolves to the project at hand.
Alex is also an electric bassist with an interest in everything from Jazz to Hard Rock to Hip-Hop. In addition, Alex handles bookings and administration for Merimac and works out of Compact Audio Recording Studio for larger recording and mixing projects.
